Visiting Annecy - Day 1

While I was in Paris, I took a 4 hr train ride to Annecy to visit N+E.

Here are some photos from my first day there. I feel that the beautiful scenery from Annecy reminds me of movies from the 1940's-50's...

After our bike ride around the lake, we went back to the apartment...

enjoyed a schorle or two...

while helping N make some apricot and plum crumble...

He's a master a it! 

Then later on, after dinner, and watching the sun set, we had a night cap on the balcony...

Montreal Polaroids

Last week/end, I had a wonderful time with my best friend in Montreal.

We laugh as we really are 2 Grandmas/Nonnas!

Here you can see M's granny slippers...

And here, you can see how I took more polaroids, as grannies love coffee and pastries (and analog photography! ;P)...

I am thoroughly amused by the dogs on the cinnamon gum package...

Chocolates also taste better when presented by a happy mandarin...

Happy Valentine's Day!

SJ and I had another day of crafting and eating...

As planned, she made heart pins...

Whereas I abandoned the project completely, and made agnolotti, ravioli, sauce with pancetta/guanciale...

Being super sentimental, I would like to think that every day is Valentine's day as well as Christmas. It is also my best friend Marisa's birthday today, which makes today extra special for me.

Breaking it Up

Currently, I'm making toys at a much slower pace to try to ensure that I (still) enjoy the process despite the mass production :P ...

I also realize that I will need to take time out to do other creative things (as you can see I am completely out of practice with taking polas :S)...

And that other additional creative outlets are also necessary to keep me thoroughly amused (thanks to M and J for this funny Figwok concept xoxo)...

Um, may the force be with you (?).

2012....I survived Christmas with much on my mind....

.... and received lovely snail mail from across the pond....

... with S's beautiful book, "Cedar Toothpick", arrived in a jacket adorned with a magical stamp...

A Very Special Guest

This week, I had the wonderful pleasure to host my friend Eva, who is visiting from France.
She is my very first European visitor and I loved every minute we spent together - from going to the "Cat Power" concert, to strolling the streets and seeing Toronto through her eyes, to cooking together and chatting, chatting, chatting till late every evening.

Fig and I miss her lots and she's not even back in France yet! :O
