Bobbette and Belle - Leslieville, Toronto

One of my favourite things to do is sit at a nice sunny café with good company, sample delicious pastries, consume lots of caffeine, and all the while, people watching and taking pictures.  We did just that this weekend, and pretended we were on vacation.

Marshmallows, cookies, and other sweets for sale...

Shared treats:

Red velvet cupcake, passionfruit, pistachio and raspberry macarons...

Light Bright

Spring is finally here and the sunshine is incredible, especially when it's after 6:30 p.m (!) .....

I had to take advantage of the light - when in doubt, take polas of Fig Newton...(hopefully the sunshine will get me back into taking proper polas...)

Happy weekend!

Framing (Finally) Completed

Happy to say that all artwork has been framed and ready for hanging!
Except now, I have to decide on where things are going to go.... :P

Swedish invasion : Åsa Dahlbäck's "Lappland" wallpaper (which I decided to frame - tack, Åsa!), and Elisabeth Dunker's "Krakatoa" poster (the glass broke twice on this frame... *sigh*)...

I had initially wanted to use Åsa's "Lappland" wallpaper, but I had moved apartments, and the wallpaper wasn't for sale at the time, so I chose Cole and Son's "Woods"...

Now that framing is completed, I should update my "to do" list... :P

Last of the Swedish/Scandinavian invasion...!

Missing

Somehow.....
...some where...
.. ....some time in March, my heart has not been into photography at all.*
* Please let me clarify that I am alluding to my love for analog/instant photography.

For some strange reason, when I take a Pola, I feel a bit melancholy....and the action of it feels forced, therefore resulting in super schiesse results (not to mention, wasting precious film).

Perhaps it's too much to ask for all my creative stars to align as I've been busy painting and having other creative outlets in my spare time, but for what it's worth, I hope that "good feeling" comes back soon.

Toronto's 1st Post Office

I've walked past this post office many times, not knowing that it was actually still in operation.  This is the very 1st post office in this city, and today it operates as a post office as well as a historic museum.

If only all the buildings in this city were like this charming little post office...

The nice thing is that it's open on Sundays as well.

The building was once owned by Christie Brown:
